Escaping Into Late Winter Light

20" x 16" canvas

Acrylic painting

A Winter late afternoon, the time of day the sun is low in the fading blue sky as it magically transitions into shades of pinks and oranges.

Long cool shadows travel along the Sonoran Desert floor sculpting the trees and low growing shrubs of the landscape.

Painting is rapid, capturing the light, color and sense of the desert wonders.

When the coyotes below begin to howl, it's a call for me to packup and leave the ridge as night begins to fall.
